One-Pot Saucy Chicken (Cooked in Water – Super Juicy & Flavorful)

 

Saucy Chicken

🛒 Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 800 grams chicken legs
  • ½ cup water (extra, for cooking)

Seasoning:

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons hot sauce

Garnish:

  • Fresh parsley (optional)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Chicken

  1. In a pot, add chicken legs and enough hot water to partially cover them.
  2. Cover with a lid and cook on medium heat for 10 minutes.

Step 2: Season the Chicken

  1. Add:
    • Salt
    • Paprika
    • Black pepper
  2. Stir gently to coat the chicken evenly.

Step 3: Add Garlic

  1. Add minced garlic.
  2. Stir again to combine flavors.

Step 4: Simmer

  1. Add ½ cup water.
  2. Cover and cook for 5 more minutes on medium-low heat.

Step 5: Add Sweet & Tangy Sauce

  1. Add:
    • Honey
    • Mustard
    • Ketchup
  2. Mix well.
  3. Cover and cook for another 5 minutes on low heat.

Step 6: Add Final Sauce Layer

  1. Pour in:
    • Soy sauce
    • Hot sauce
  2. Stir gently to coat the chicken completely.
  3. Cover and cook for 5 more minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Step 7: Final Touch

  1. Turn off heat.
  2. Sprinkle chopped parsley on top (optional).

🍽️ Serving Ideas

  • Serve with steamed rice or noodles
  • Pair with roti or garlic bread
  • Spoon extra sauce over the chicken for maximum flavor

  • Cooking in water first keeps the chicken extra juicy and tender
  • Adjust hot sauce based on spice preference

  • You can use chicken thighs instead of legs
